The evening commenced with Ruairi Cosgrove, Council member and Director of Entity Governance and Compliance at PwC giving a succinct overview of the features and impacts of the Companies Bill 2012. He referred to the main changes for private companies under the legislation as well as the other types of company proposed in the Bill.

Teresa Minnie, Head of Members and Students at ICSA London, spoke about the revised constitution for the ICSA , the new branding which has just been launched and the relocation of the head office in London after many years at Park Crescent.

In relation to Study options, Albert Farrell spoke about the Certificate in Irish Company Secretarial Practice and Share Registration Practice focusing on the content of the modules and how they are delivered. Mr Nick Reed highlighted the key benefits of studying for the Masters in Management and Corporate Governance at the University of Ulster.  Finally, the Chairperson of the ICSA Students Sub-committee, Sandra Tierney summarised the study options open to students studying for the Chartered Secretary Qualifying Scheme (CSQS).
