The Swindon Network was created to help coordinate the sharing of information and best practice between members in the area and to help facilitate member networking. The network aims to provide continuing professional development and networking activities as well as support to the Institute's students. It also operates as a forum for members to share experiences and ideas, as well as a wider business forum for like-minded professionals in the Swindon area who share an interest in good corporate governance.

The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy has recently consulted on proposals to reform the Registrar of Companies – consultation document. The proposals, if pursued, will represent the biggest shift to the company law framework, and to the role of the registrar, since 1844.
Arguably, these reforms would mean a move for Companies House from “register” towards “regulator”, and provide a new role for the registrar as a key player in the fight against money laundering and economic crime.
This session will look at the changing role of the registrar of companies as a result of a number of significant legislative changes currently in development.
