Terms and Conditions

Eligibility

The Prize Draw is open to members and prospective members of The Chartered Governance Institute only. Completing a Building Your Capabilities survey (the “Survey”) implies acceptance of these terms and conditions, and any amendments to them, which are final and binding in all respects. Emerald reserves the right to disqualify any entrant from the Prize Draw if, in its sole judgement, the entrant has not complied with these terms and conditions, has tampered with the operation of the Prize Draw, or has engaged in any conduct that is detrimental or unfair to Emerald, the Prize Draw, or any other entrant.

Prize

There are two (2) prizes to be won (the “Prizes”), consisting of a CGI Training course of the winner’s choice up to the value of £595 (one for each Survey completed).

The Prizes may not be transferred or substituted, except that Emerald may, at its sole discretion, substitute any Prize won with a prize of equal or greater value. Any unclaimed Prize remains the property of The Chartered Governance Institute.

Opening/Closing Date and Time

The Chartered Governance Institute will send out via email, two separate Surveys. The Prize Draw opens on the date the first Survey is sent out via email by The Chartered Governance Institute and closes at 5pm – 18th February 2022 (the “Prize Draw Period”).

How to Enter

To enter, entrants must complete one of the Surveys (which, for the avoidance of doubt shall include each entrant providing their email address at the end of the Survey) made available to them via the emails sent to them by The Chartered Governance Institute during the Prize Draw Period.

In the event of any dispute, all completed Surveys will be deemed to have been submitted by the person whose email address is set out in each Survey. Entry to the Prize Draw is limited to one per person.

Emerald will only accept a completed Survey that is completed and submitted in the format designated. Duplicate completed Surveys are not permitted and will be disregarded.

Winner Selection

Emerald will, in its sole discretion, select the Prize winners at random. The winners will be notified by email using the email address provided in either Survey within one (1) days of the end of the Prize Draw Period (“Notification”). [The winner will have five (5) days from receipt of the Notification to respond to Emerald and confirm acceptance of the Prize.

If a selected winner (or any substitute winner) is ineligible, cannot be reached, or fails to claim their Prize within five (5) days of receiving the Notification, that winner (or substitute winner) will forfeit the Prize and it will be awarded to a substitute winner. If, having attempted to contact a winner and a substitute winner, Emerald is unable to award the Prize, Emerald reserves the right to consider the Prize unclaimed.]

This process is final, and no correspondence will be entered into. Non winners will not be notified.

Emerald Works is committed to protecting personal data and will only use entrants’ personal data in accordance with these terms and conditions and Emerald Works’ privacy policy. By entering the Prize Draw and accepting the Prize, entrants understand that Emerald Works will use their email address in connection with this Prize Draw and the Survey, except where prohibited by law.

Miscellaneous

(a) Promoter: Emerald Works Limited, Level 1, 50 Frederick Street, Edinburgh, Scotland EH2 1EX is the promoter of the Prize Draw.

(b) Waiver of Liability: Emerald will not be responsible or liable for: (i) any failure to receive a completed Survey due to conditions beyond its reasonable control; (ii) any late, lost, misrouted, garbled or distorted or damaged transmissions of a completed Survey; (iii) any disruptions, injuries, losses or damages caused by events beyond its reasonable control; or (iv) any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the Prize Draw.

(c) General Release: By entering the Prize Draw you release Emerald, relevant third parties, and each of their respective affiliated companies, directors, officers, employees, representatives and agencies, from any liability whatsoever for any claims, costs, injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with the Prize Draw or with the acceptance, possession, or use of the Prize, except as prohibited by law.

(d) Amendment: To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Emerald reserves the right to change these rules or cancel the Prize Draw at any time, in its sole discretion.
