William Chalmers Executive Director, Interim Group Chief Executive, and Chief Financial Officer

William was appointed Group Chief Financial Officer at Lloyds Banking Group, and joined the Group Board in August 2019. He was appointed Interim Group Chief Executive in May 2021. William has significant Board level strategic and financial leadership experience including strategic planning and development, mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt capital structuring and risk management. He has worked in financial services for over 25 years. William has a First Class Honours Degree in Economics from Edinburgh University, a Juris Doctor, Cum Laude, from Harvard Law School and was admitted to the New York Bar in 1993.
Former appointments: William was previously Co-Head of the Global Financial Institutions Group at Morgan Stanley. Prior to that, he held a number of senior roles at Morgan Stanley, including Head of EMEA Financial Institutions Group. Before joining Morgan Stanley, William worked for JP Morgan, again in the Financial Institutions Group.
