2021 Winner
This section of the report can be a little dry, but some companies did an outstanding job in making it interesting and insightful, with a focus on what the audit committee does and why this is important – for example how the board is assured of there independence and competence of the auditor and, which was less common, of internal audit. Evidence of challenge in both cases and a discussion of how issues were resolved gave great insight into – and comfort from – the report. Our winner managed to do all this in much more depth than other companies but, importantly, without using more words.
