Gavin is an experienced Company Secretary gained from a range of international listed and unlisted firms across banking, insurance, asset and wealth management, oil & gas, energy and professional services sectors. Appointed in August 2021 as Group Company Secretary of wealth manager Tilney Smith & Williamson, Gavin has previously held deputy roles at Centrica and Santander UK as well as Heads of Governance at HSBC and Lloyds Banking Group. A strong believer that a good company secretary adds significant value to their organisation and stakeholders by keeping things simple, as well as bringing clarity to ownership, responsibility and accountability. A key feature of his career to date has been to tailor governance and support to boards and executives that best suit their needs rather than assume a box ticking / one-size fits all approach. Gavin is a Fellow of the Chartered Governance Institute and active in financial service governance forums.
