Geoffrey Shepheard is joint head of CGI Board Evaluation, with which he has been involved since 2002. He has carried out board, committee and individual director evaluations for FTSE listed companies, regulators and a wide range of other organisations, which has involved countless individual director interviews.
As a chartered secretary in public practice, he undertook assignments for a variety of PLCs. He was closely involved with the establishment of CREST, the London market share settlement system, acting as company secretary of Crestco for several years. His practice handled outsourced secretarial work for a major utility. He also acted for a major US insurer on a $750m fraud investigation, which resulted in successful prosecutions.
Most of his Geoffrey’s early career was in the City of London, where he was company secretary and human resources director for a Lloyd’s insurance broker, before being recruited as company secretary for a Full Listing on the London Stock Exchange in 1988.
He has served of the International Council of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and is a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company.
Geoffrey is married to Rosie and lives in Send, Surrey. He enjoys bridge, golf at West Byfleet Golf Club, where he is a past captain and cricket at Lord’s where he is a member of both MCC and Middlesex County Cricket Club.
