Jason Wright

Jason has been the Nationwide Society Secretary from March 2021 and is an experienced governance professional with over 25 years’ experience in banking and financial services. He has previously worked for RSA Insurance Group, Abbey National, Royal Bank of Canada, Santander UK and Barclays Bank plc.

During his career, Jason has seen and helped implement enormous change in corporate governance including the evolution of governance post the Financial Crisis and the standing up of the UK Ring Fenced Bank structural reform. In his time as a Company Secretary and latterly as Society Secretary, Jason has advised boards on skills and experience assessment, board succession and composition and worked with Chairs to identify and recruit Non-Executive Directors.

Jason has also worked with boards on structuring individual and collective development programmes as well as tailored board training programmes. He has assisted many board directors and attended countless Board meetings, making him very well placed to understand what makes skills are required at the board.
