Simon Blackburn

Simon Blackburn is Deputy Company Secretary at the John Lewis Partnership, the UK’s largest employee-owned business. In his current role he leads the team responsible for corporate governance and for supporting the Partnership’s Board and Executive Team. He additionally works with the Partnership Secretary to advise and support the Partnership’s Council of elected employee representatives.

Simon qualified as a Chartered Governance Professional at the Pension Protection Fund, and prior to joining the Partnership was at Company Matters where he supported a range of clients including investment trusts and FTSE 350 companies. His early career included roles at the Bank of England and in both Houses of Parliament where his responsibilities included drafting legislation and the posts of Secretary to the House of Lords Management Board and the Lord Speaker’s Private Secretary.
