From SMEs to PLCs, Níall Fitzgerald has spent most of his career as a Chartered Accountant working and advising on many aspects of governance including compliance, risk and strategy. He is Head of Ethics and Governance in Chartered Accountants Ireland (@CharteredAccIrl) leading their advocacy and voice activities in relation to governance and business/professional ethics. He also leads the development of thought leadership resources in this area and in 2019 developed the “Concise Guide for Directors: A Five-Step Approach to Considering Organisational Culture” (www.charteredaccountants.ie/governance). Níall is also a judge for the good governance awards, a member of the governance and risk committee for Age Action and advises board members in the public, private and third sector on various aspects of governance.
