Study with The Chartered Governance Institute: IFA
Uphold standards in international finance with a chartered qualification
Uphold standards in international finance with a chartered qualification
The importance of the global financial services industry is unquestionable. In international finance centres like Jersey, Guernsey and Isle of Man around a quarter of the workforce is employed in banking, insurance, wealth management, investment and fund management. As a consequence, high standards, skills and knowledge are in great demand to protect both the people who invest in the sector and those who work in it.
International finance centres rely on transparency and accountability to cement their reputations. The growing global appetite for governance has increased the need for skilled professionals who have in-depth knowledge of international standards.
The Chartered Governance Institute supports this increasingly competitive industry by training the people the sector relies on. We have a suite of International Finance and Administration (IFA) qualifications.
IFA Level 4 provides a broad overview of the financial market, meets regulatory requirements and gives the opportunity to specialise in either accounting or investment, or both. This is an ideal qualification for those new to the sector, with some industry experience but no recognised qualification or people looking to change career.
IFA Level 5 qualification (equivalent to second-year undergraduate) is ideal for those people looking to progress their career further or work in a supervisory or junior management role and covers funds administration, offshore trust and company administration, financial reporting and governance, accounting and business management. It is aimed at those people who have successfully completed IFA Level 4 or have a university degree or higher national diploma.
We are pleased to announce that the IFA Level 4 qualification has recently been recognised by the Financial Services Commission in Jersey, Guernsey, Isle of Man and the British Virgin Islands. We continue to work with regulators to extend the international recognition of the qualification.
The benefits of studying with The Chartered Governance Institute are:
Study for The Institutes’s IFA qualifications can be undertaken independently using our range materials or students can work with a registered tuition provider. The full list of tuition providers in Jersey, Guernsey and Isle of Man are listed below for which courses are due to start in September. The Level 5 suite of qualifications will be available from January 2017.
In September we will be hosting a student event in the Cayman Islands, in conjunction with Elain and BPP, to tell students and the local community about our range of qualifications. The IFA qualifications will also be a key part of our Conference in Mauritius, which will be held in November.
