Governance + Compliance and NAVEX Global have joined forces to raise awareness of the benefits of ethical behaviour within organisations. In our June issue Shaping the future by Mary Bennett, Vice President of Navex Global's advisory service, outlined seven steps to embedding integrity in an organisation's culture. Now we open up the debate to other experts in the field of compliance to share their views.

Why should companies go beyond compliance to try and instil ethical behaviour? Isn’t it enough of a challenge to meet the letter of the regulations?


JH: Corporate reputations will be judged in the court of public opinion, which goes way beyond compliance… any unacceptable practices will become transparent to the media and to stakeholders.
