Graham Lawrence, Chartered Governance Professional, TTP Partners

Graham is a Chartered Governance Professional (FCG) with 20 years’ experience in company secretarial and senior advisory roles in the public and commercial sectors.

Following qualification as a Chartered Secretary in 2006 Graham became Company Secretary of Peabody, a large London housing association group and grant-making charity with several trading subsidiaries. In this role Graham was responsible for all aspects of the company secretary role, as well as leading on compliance with multiple regulators’ requirements.

After five years at Peabody Graham was appointed as Company Secretary of Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Graham was a key member of the team that delivered FT status three years later, during which time he developed and implemented all of the necessary governance arrangements.

In 2013 Graham joined the Governance Advisory Practice at DAC Beachcroft LLP, where for five years he specialised in governance, risk and regulatory advice for NHS and commercial clients. During this time Graham led corporate and clinical governance and leadership reviews, provided development programmes for boards and councils of governors, mentored the chairman of a leading acute teaching hospital FT, and advised clients extensively on all aspects of governance and regulatory compliance.

In September 2018 Graham left DAC Beachcroft to establish his own consultancy business, TTP Partners Limited, providing governance and company secretarial services. In addition to his consultancy business Graham is a Governor of The College of Richard Collyer, an outstanding-rated sixth form college in Horsham, West Sussex. He has been a mentor for 10 years, supporting other company secretaries.

Dr. Ansgar Koene, Senior Research Fellow, University of Nottingham & Global AI Ethics and Regulatory Leader, EY

Dr. Ansgar Koene is Global AI Ethics and Regulatory Leader at EY (Ernst & Young) where he contributes to the work on AI governance, trusted AI frameworks and AI related public policy engagement. He is also a Senior Research Fellow at the Horizon Digital Economy Research institute (University of Nottingham) where he contributes to the policy impact and public engagement activities of the institute and the ReEnTrust and UnBias projects.

Ansgar chairs the IEEE P7003 Standard for Algorithmic Bias Considerations working group, and participates in the IEEE standards, certification (ECPAIS) and the European Public Policy Committee for ICT. Other standards development work includes participation in the ISO/IEC JTC1 SC42 AI and the CEN-CENELEC Focus Group for AI.

He is a trustee for the 5Rgiths foundation for the Rights of Young People Online and is part of the 5Rights Digital Futures Committee.

Ansgar has a multi-disciplinary research background, having worked and published on topics ranging from Policy and Governance of Algorithmic Systems (AI), data-privacy, AI Ethics, AI Standards, bio-inspired Robotics, AI and Computational Neuroscience to experimental Human Behaviour/Perception studies. He holds an MSc in Electrical Engineering and a PhD in Computational Neuroscience.

Laura Coleclough, Senior Associate, Penningtons Manches Cooper LLP

Laura is a senior associate in the commercial dispute resolution team in London. With experience in representing banks and financial institutions as well as other commercial entities, she advises on a broad range of commercial disputes, including breach of contract, professional negligence, financial services disputes, shareholder disputes and IT related disputes. She acts in High Court and County Court litigation as well as on mediations.

Laura plays an active role in the firm’s international trade and commerce and IP/IT disputes groups. She is a member of the Junior London Solicitors Litigation Association and the Society for Computers and Law.

She joined Penningtons Manches Cooper in 2017 from a leading international law firm. Before qualifying, Laura worked in-house in the legal departments of three large international companies. She completed her Legal Practice Course in London, graduating with distinction.
