Technical briefing: Companies Registration Office – Ireland

Of interest to those working with Irish companies

The Irish Registrar of Companies has decided that all annual returns due to be filed by any Company now and up to 30 June 2020 will be deemed to have been filed on time if all elements of the annual return are completed and filed by that date.

On 1 April, the Companies Registration Office (CRO) provided an update to the effect that while the offices remain closed, limited public services including company incorporations and receipt of charges are still available. Through www.cro.ie, both the company search facility and the company online filing facility remain available and post to the Dublin office resumed on 2 April.

Updates are available on Twitter and on the CRO website – www.cro.ie where there is also a helpful Q&A section.
