The Institute wishes to share the sad news that Mark William Copsey, Lead Examiner and Subject Matter Expert at CGIUKI, passed away on 18 November 2025 in Eindhoven. Born in Gloucester on 18 May 1965, Mark was a devoted husband to Kirsten Cameron and loving father to Bethany, Emma, and Helen Copsey.
In his role at the Institute, Mark served as Lead Examiner for Development of Strategy and examiner for Business Management in Practice. His expertise and dedication shaped the education of countless students and strengthened the governance profession. His work reflected a deep commitment to excellence and integrity.
Reflecting on his contribution, Sarah Montagnino, Director of Education and Learning at CGIUKI, said:
“Mark was a highly valued subject matter expert for the Education team. His professionalism, generosity of spirit, and unwavering commitment to excellence made him a trusted colleague and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to work with him.”
Mark’s funeral took place on 25 November 2025 at Crematorium Wolfswinkel in Son en Breugel.
A Memorial Service for Mark will take place at 3pm on 11 December 2025 at St James' & St Basil's Church, Fenham Hall Dr, Newcastle upon Tyne NE4 9XP.
