We provide networking opportunities for The Chartered Governance Institute UK & Ireland's members and students living and working in Guernsey. Our events are also open to free subscribers and non-members who would like to learn more about the Institute.
The aims of the branch are:

The Institute's Response to the UK Stewardship Code Consultation

The Chartered Governance Institute UK & Ireland maintains a presence in the Bailiwick of Guernsey through its local branch committee. The local branch strives to enhance the presence of the Institute within Guernsey, to support members and students throughout their careers and study programmes, as qualified or aspiring governance professionals. Stefan Kleynhans FCG
Stefan is a Fellow of the CGI UK&I and had been a member since October 2022. Stefan completed his qualifying Board Exams with the CGI Southern Africa in 2019 and was a member of the CGI Southern Africa before transferring to the CGI UK&I in 2022. Before moving to Guernsey to take up his current role as a member of the company secretarial team of a Guernsey fund administrator, Stefan was the Company Secretary and Legal Advisor of company listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. Stefan was a member of the Johannesburg Bar for several years and also worked for one of the large South African banks.

Seb Tremlett ACG
Seb is a Technical Specialist in the Financial Crime Division at the Guernsey Financial Services Commission. Prior to joining the Financial Crime Division, he worked in the Commission’s Investment, Fiduciary and Pension Supervision Division, where he gained experience supervising regulated firms across a range of sectors.
Before joining the Commission, Seb built broad experience across Guernsey’s financial services industry, primarily through accounting and fund administration roles spanning private equity, real estate and fiduciary structures.
Seb is an Associate Member of The Chartered Governance Institute and a Chartered Certified Accountant. He is currently studying for an MSc in Financial Crime and Compliance in Digital Societies at the University of Manchester.
