You’ll join a supportive global network of over 40,000 colleagues, advance your career, and gain international recognition as a credible governance professional.
If your ambition is to be become a chartered governance professional, then join us as a student and find the right qualification route for you. If you have some relevant governance experience and/or qualifications already and you just want to belong without taking exams to get chartered, you may want to consider one of the routes to Affiliated membership. If you just want to become part of our governance community, there are subscription options to explore too.
Student member
Your journey to chartered status starts here. Everyone studying a CGIUKI qualification is a student member.
Affiliated member
Our non-chartered status, for anyone who has a CGIUKI short course qualification, or already holds a relevant degree or professional qualification.
Graduate member
The next step to chartered status. Awarded when you complete the Chartered Governance Qualifying Programme or an accredited postgraduate degree from one of our partner universities.
Associate
The gold standard in professional recognition. Awarded once you've graduated from the qualifying programme, and you have six years’ relevant work experience – or three years’ if you have another relevant qualification.
Fellow
For the most experienced governance professionals. Awarded once you've graduated from the qualifying programme and been an associate member, plus have eight years’ relevant senior work experience.
