How to become a graduate member
Chartered Governance Qualifying Programme
The route to graduate membership begins with the Chartered Governance Qualifying Programme, suitable for governance professionals, company secretaries, and law or finance professionals transferring to governance roles.
Entry routes
There are six main routes into the Chartered Governance Qualifying Programme, including a Fast Track Professional route for accountants, lawyers and other professionals with more than five year’s post-qualifying experience.
Postgraduate degree courses
We partner with six UK universities to offer a dual qualification as part of a postgraduate degree course, which can offer fast-track opportunities and exemptions to graduate membership.
Graduate membership fees
We review the fees for each level of membership every year and publish them on our main Membership Fees page.
How to apply
Application is automatic upon successful completion of your qualification.
Next step: chartered membership
Our graduate members typically progress quickly to chartered status. To become chartered, you’ll need at least three years’ relevant work experience, depending on your other qualifications and experience. Experience gained while you’re qualifying counts, which means that some members progress straight from their exams to chartered membership.
