As an alternative to The Chartered Governance Qualifying Programme exams, we maintain various dual-award partnerships with UK universities. These postgraduate qualifications cover the same core content as The Chartered Governance Qualifying Programme and may offer fast-track opportunities and exemptions for students with relevant experience.
When you join a university programme, you should register as a student of ours; this is the first step to becoming a member of The Institute. As our student, when you complete the university programme, you can then go on to become GradCG. This means that when you gain enough relevant work experience, you can apply to become a full chartered member of The Institute.
You need to apply to join the programmes with the universities, and you should contact them directly to apply.
You will also need to register with us as a student of The Chartered Governance Institute UK & Ireland in the first term / semester of your studies. When you start the university programme, we will be in touch with you to explain how you become registered as a student of the Institute. If you want to find out more about this now, you can see a summary of the our student and membership process.
If you are already a student doing a postgraduate qualification and you want to register as a student of the Institute, you should speak to the programme leader.
