Eligible Members (FCGs and ACGs) are invited to vote in the 2026 election to the Board of The Chartered Governance Institute UK & Ireland.

Ballot papers were issued on 1 June by PIN Communications on behalf of CGIUKI, by email (where we hold a valid email address) and by post. If you have not received your voting email, please check your junk or spam folder, or contact us for assistance at secretary@cgi.org.uk.

Voting closes at 5.00pm (BST) on 24 June 2026.

Why your vote matters

The CGIUKI Board plays a critical role in setting the Institute’s strategic direction, representing the profession and ensuring the organisation continues to evolve in line with members’ needs.

This year’s election is particularly significant. The Board is seeking to strengthen its capability in AI, technology and digital, as well as branding and external engagement, while maintaining a balanced and diverse composition across career stages, sectors, backgrounds and geographies.

For the first time, all candidates (including those seeking re‑election) have been assessed against the approved Assessment Criteria and the Board Skills Matrix, with only those meeting the required standard progressing to ballot.

This ensures a consistent, transparent and skills‑based approach to Board composition, supporting the Institute’s long‑term effectiveness.

The candidates

This year’s ballot includes a strong and diverse field of candidates, bringing experience across governance, technology, digital transformation, risk, communications and leadership.

Candidates on the ballot are:

  • Melissa Banks FCG
  • Reena Mulliah‑Moonoosamy FCG
  • Ketevan (Keti) Khukhunashvili ACG
  • April Skipp FCG
  • Joyce Boateng FCG
  • Bernadette Young FCG (seeking re‑election)
  • Dr Ahmed Shawky CG (Affiliated)
  • Justine Lutterodt (seeking re‑election)
  • Nabil Jamshed

Together, they reflect the breadth of the profession and the evolving skillsets required to support modern governance.

Casting your vote

Voting is being conducted via a single transferable vote system, allowing you to rank candidates in order of preference.

Candidates are presented in two groups within the ballot (Eligible Members and Affiliated/non‑member candidates) to ensure the Board continues to meet its regulatory composition requirements.

You are encouraged to rank as many candidates as possible to ensure your vote is fully reflected.

Vote now

This is your opportunity to shape the future direction of CGIUKI and ensure the Board reflects the skills, experience and perspectives needed to support the governance profession.

If you have not yet voted, please do so before 5.00pm (BST) on 24 June 2026.
