Our speaker for this event was George Coleman FCG, West Africa Region Branch Chair.

George Coleman is a Manager in the Company Secretarial unit of PricewaterhouseCoopers and has over 11 years of working experience with the firm. George is a specialist in regulatory advice, corporate governance matters, statutory due diligence review, technology transfer agreements review, corporate restructuring, foreign exchange control matters, pathfinder & inward investor services, company secretarial services and immigration services.

Hybrid AGMs have been very useful during this Covid-19 pandemic. However, this mix of virtual and physical approach for AGMs is not without challenges. In this virtual conference, we discussed various challenges and the possible ways to avert them.

Our panelists for this event included:

  • Victoria Penrice FCG, UKRIAT President
    Victoria is President of the UKRIAT Committee and qualified as a chartered secretary over 20 years ago. She has significant experience in listed companies and Victoria has been on the UKRIAT Committee since it was formed in 2014, having originally been elected to the Institute’s Council in 2013.
  • Mrs. Angela Okai
    Mrs. Angela Okai is the Company Secretary of Standard Chartered Bank Ghana Limited and has oversight responsibilities for the bank’s subsidiaries in four West African countries. She is a student member of the Chartered Governance Institute (UK) and a member of Ghana Bar Association and the Commonwealth Lawyers Association.
  • Mr. Francis Adiasani FCG
    Francis Adiasani is a Fellow of the Chartered Governance Institute (UK) and a solicitor/barrister of the Supreme Court of Ghana. He is the Executive Director of the Governance Study Centre which is an approved tuition provider of the Chartered Governance Institute in Ghana.
  • Andrej Vladar Lumi
    Andrej Vladar has over 17 years of experience in delivering successful AGMs in Africa. He started his career at Lumi as an Interactive Producer and introduced the technology to facilitate electronic annual general meetings to the African market in 2006 after receiving extensive training in the United Kingdom. He currently serves as the Managing Director of Lumi, Africa.
