There is a greater need than ever before for high quality clerks who can provide the skills and knowledge that are crucial to the long-term success of a school.

Offered by the National Governance Association and accredited by us, this Level 3 certificate provides the skills and knowledge needed by the modern professional clerk. A flexible programme designed for both new and experienced clerks working in schools, single or multi-academy trusts, course features include 360° diagnostic review, peer-to-peer and group learning, support with completing a school-based project and completion of a personal learning log to record areas for further development after the programme ends.

Duration

The course runs over a nine-month period. It is led by experienced facilitators, through workshops and one-to-one mentoring throughout the duration of this programme. You will also attend four face-to-face workshops with an experienced facilitator focusing on the development of clerking competencies.

Content

The course includes:

  • A 360-degree diagnostic of the participant’s strengths and areas for development
  • Participation in peer-to-peer and group learning to strengthen and support networking
  • Support with creating and completing a focused school-based project
  • Support in completion of a learning log to record personalised areas for focus and key learning points
