Paul Stanton was Visiting Professor in the Faculty of Health & Life Sciences at De Montfort University, having previously been Visiting Professor at the Newcastle Business School and at Northumbria University’s Faculty of Health. He is founder and Chief Executive of Southminster Consultancy Associates and is a regular contributor to executive development programmes at the Kings Fund, the NHS and North East Leadership Academies and to post-graduate leadership courses at a number of Universities.
He has worked with Boards in more than 150 public sector organizations and is currently working, inter alia, with a number of Integrated Care Systems as well as with evolving Sustainability & Transformation Partnerships in support of the effective governance of system wide health and social care transformation. In particular he has worked closely with the Team Leeds Health and Well Being Partnership which has brought together all statutory and third sector commissioners and providers to drive forward radical improvements in the lives of the most deprived sections of the Leeds population whilst promoting inclusive growth and a system wide strategy to address the climate emergency.
Paul was formerly the National Director of Board Development in the NHS and a Senior Strategy Adviser on quality and health system regulation in the Department of Health. He chaired an international Mental Health charitable organisation and has served as a Trustee on a number of third sector bodies.
