Claire Robson

Claire Robson has worked for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity since February 2016.

Claire is the Charity’s Company Secretary and Data Protection Officer and leads a small team dedicated to providing advice in the areas of Governance, Legal, Secretariat and Corporate Services. Prior to that she spent eleven years in the Health Sector specialising in Information Governance. Originally starting her career as a Chartered Secretary, qualifying with the CGI in 2003, and completing the Charity Law and Governance Certificate in 2017, Claire first started specialising in Data Protection around 2000, implementing the then Data Protection Act 1998 and completed a specialist Master’s Degree in Information Rights Law and Practice in 2008 with additional qualifications in Computer Forensics and Information Security. In December 2010, Claire had a Case Study Article published called “FOI Requests at an NHS Trust” in PDP’s Freedom of Information Journal.

In June 2017, Claire joined the Chartered Secretaries Charitable Trust as a Trustee in May 2019, becoming Deputy Chair in January 2022. Claire is now working closely with the CGI as an Independent Adviser, acting as one of the Examiners for the Institute in the subject of Charity Law and Governance.
