Overview
Board Performance Reviews are no longer a compliance exercise; they are a critical tool for strengthening leadership, culture, and strategic oversight. As expectations from regulators, investors and stakeholders continue to rise, boards are under increasing pressure to demonstrate effectiveness, challenge and continuous improvement. This course provides a modern and practical applied approach to Board Performance Reviews, enabling participants to deliver reviews that generate insight, build trust, and drive meaningful change rather than box‑ticking outcomes.
What you'll learn
We want to equip governance professionals and board reviewers with the practical expertise, judgement and confidence required to design, conduct and communicate high‑quality Board Performance Reviews across a range of organisational contexts. Through expert tuition, peer discussion and hands‑on exercises, participants will explore what “good” looks like in contemporary board reviews, how expectations differ by sector, and how to adapt reviews to organisational maturity, culture and stakeholder priorities.
This course goes beyond theory to focus on real‑world application—guiding participants through the full review lifecycle from scoping and methodology selection to analysis, reporting, recommendations and follow‑up. By the end of the day, delegates will be well placed to deliver Board Performance Reviews that are credible, proportionate, evidence‑based and genuinely supportive of board effectiveness and long‑term organisational success.
