Further your knowledge and help your organisation performance excel with our range of corporate governance resources.
Think of corporate governance as a toolkit to help management and the board deal with the challenges of running a company.
Corporate governance includes the objective setting process and how goals are pursued in the context of the social, regulatory and market environment. It also focuses on ensuring that stakeholders can have confidence that their trust in the company is well-founded.
We believe that good governance provides the infrastructure to improve the quality of decision making. So, it's not only important for large companies: all companies should have appropriate systems, policies and practices in place.
Ultimately, good quality, ethical decision-making will help you build a sustainable business — and enable you to create long-term value more effectively.
UK Corporate Governance Code
The UK Corporate Governance Code sets out standards of good practice in relation to issues like board composition and development, remuneration, accountability and audit, and relations with shareholders. Overseen by the Financial Reporting Council (FRC), companies with a premium listing on the London Stock Exchange are asked to comply with the code or explain why they have chosen not to.
Irish Corporate Governance Code
This code was created in 2024 and is based on best standards for corporate governance internationally, catering for the specifics of the Irish market and legal environment; the broader EU regulatory regime; and developments in best practice.
