Why we do what we do
The Chartered Governance Institute UK & Ireland is a membership organisation that understands our colleagues are at the heart of what we do.
We support almost 16,000 members and students, with over 700 different job titles, a perfect example of how diverse the field of governance really is.
Our purpose is to champion good governance and develop the value, skills and effectiveness of company secretaries and governance professionals.
In order to achieve this our colleagues all work towards:

- Supporting governance professionals in achieving their professional goals
- Promoting the contribution of good governance to economic and societal value and wellbeing

We are a team of about 60 people based in a Farringdon office, with hybrid working as standard. We enjoy coming together not only for collaborative work, but for social events too. We even have our own football team who plays other companies, a book club and whole host of wellbeing initiatives emerging.
