No. These courses are designed to be accessible to those without formal governance qualifications – just bring your sector knowledge and passion for career progression.
Sector Qualifications focus on applying governance principles within a particular sector. They are shorter (usually 8-9 months), more focused, and designed to help you build practical knowledge quickly – without the need for prior qualifications. Once you’ve successfully completed a sector qualification, you can progress to study the CGIUKI’s Qualifying Programme.

Our sector qualifications run from October to June. You’ll learn through a mix of self-study, tutor-led webinars and online, allowing you to balance learning alongside your current role.
You’ll complete a written assignment and an online multiple-choice questions exam.
