What to do after registering as a student?
Our Sector qualifications start in October and you will begin to receive updates from July onwards about dates and access to your learning resources. Now that you’re registered, however, your next step is to select the tabs below to see the steps you’ll need to follow next:
It’s important to think about how much time you can commit to your studies. We recommend setting aside around 200 hours of preparation for the qualification. Many students, especially those in full‑time work, find it helpful to plan ahead so they can balance study with other responsibilities.
Each qualification has four modules. For the subjects below, Module 1 is shared so that all students build the same core knowledge before moving on to specialist topics in Modules 2–4:

If you are studying one of these subjects, you will receive two study texts:

one for Module 1
-
one covering Modules 2–4
All other subjects receive one study text, as they do not include the shared Module 1.
Your study texts contain all the core knowledge you need for your exam. These are included in your registration fee and provided as an e‑copy. You can access all study texts through the Learning Management System (LMS), which we will cover later.
Each sector qualification includes a series of live webinars that follow the study text in order. These webinars support your learning not replace it, so we recommend reading the matching section of your study text before attending.
All webinars are recorded so you can access them at a time and place that suits you. Attendance is not compulsory, but we encourage you to book the sessions on the LMS so you receive calendar invitations.

A link to each webinar is also shared in the discussion board as a reminder.
You will be automatically enrolled for your assessment which comprises of two elements:

A written assignment
-
A multiple choice question (MCQ) exam
The assignment brief will be released in April with the assignment itself due at the end of May. You have approximately six weeks to complete the assignment.
The multiple choice question (MCQ) exam will take place in June exam session, and we will share details about the exam platform closer to the time.
Once published, all key exam dates are available on the Student Information page of the CGI website.
You will need to plan your own study schedule. Many students find it helpful to follow the webinar timetable to keep on track.

We also offer collaborative workspaces for each qualification on our LMS. These spaces are designed to help you meet and work with your peers to discuss your learning, exchange ideas and prepare for your assessment.
