Peterborough-based North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust had double cause for celebration last night when the Trust’s Deputy Company Secretary Paul Denton was named Governance Professional of the Year and the Trust picked up the award for Diversity & Inclusion Initiative of the Year at ICSA: The Chartered Governance Institute’s 2020 Awards.

Delivered by the Chartered Governance Institute UK & Ireland, the Sports Governance Academy has received further long-term investment of £1.8m to run from December 2022 – December 2027.

CGIUKI has welcomed the FRC’s new Corporate Governance Code but cautioned that governance and regulatory reform remains incomplete.

As a result of the decision to prioritise its role as a standard setter and registration body, CGIUKI is no longer providing board performance reviews through its in-house board evaluation service, CGI Board Evaluation.

The white paper very sensibly highlights that the Regulator will establish a compulsory ‘Football Club Corporate Governance Code’ and that this code will draw on existing codes including the UK Corporate Governance Code, the Wates Principles and the Code for Sports Governance. As the leading body for governance in the UK, we firmly believe that better governance drives better decision making in every sector, sport included.
