When you complete the Chartered Governance Qualifying Programme or a validated postgraduate degree, you become a graduate member of the Chartered Governance Institute UK & Ireland. Achieving graduate member status demonstrates you've got an exceptionally high-level understanding of the many subjects relevant to governance.

Affiliated membership is our non-chartered level. It’s a straightforward way to get professional recognition for your existing academic and career achievements, without the need to study for another qualification. If you already have a relevant degree, professional qualification, or work experience in governance – or a similar sector, like law or finance – it’s likely you’re eligible for affiliated membership of CGIUKI.

The concessionary rate of membership is applicable to members and students who are based in countries with lower income thresholds than the UK.

Policy for the Reduced Rate Countries

Retiring from work? You don’t have to leave us. If you’re at least 66 and no longer working full- or part-time in a paid or voluntary professional role, you’re eligible for retired membership at a reduced rate.
